Constipation is a common complaint among our patients. Even if constipation isn’t something that you experience on a daily/weekly basis, most of us have been constipated before and know how uncomfortable it is to not be able to have a bowel movement with ease.
Constipation – BIG THREE
By now you should have already implemented the BIG THREE cures for constipation, which are adequate hydration, movement (stretching, exercise, walking, etc.), and plenty of fiber. However, if you’re still having problems you may want to consider the recipe below to see if it will do the trick.
- 1 cup apple sauce
- 1 cup oat bran
- 1/2 cup prune juice
Mix the above three ingredients together and keep in a glass jar in the refrigerator. Start with 2 tbsp in the morning and evening. You may increase by 1 tbsp each day until you’ve started becoming more regular.
